Fraud & Phishing Warning

The following information is designed to help members of the public protect themselves against fraudulent activity involving institutions or individuals claiming to represent, or offer products or services on behalf of FountainVest Partners (“FountainVest”).

FountainVest has learned that some unauthorised individuals have pretended to be FountainVest employees, using FountainVest’s name, address and other information lifted directly from our official website in an attempt to defraud the public. We understand they are sending Wechat messages proposing various schemes such as offering loans, investment opportunities or participation in financial transactions, and/or requiring an advance payment in connection with a transaction supposedly made through FountainVest.

These fraudulent materials use the FountainVest name, logo and address, as well as the names of our staff and management – all without FountainVest’s permission. We are taking steps to halt such fraudulent behaviour. We advise you to be on the alert and to confirm the authenticity of any messages, emails or documents you may receive that purport to be from FountainVest.

Please take note of the following:

Imposters can use the FountainVest name in furtherance of a variety of criminal activities. In particular, beware of scams purportedly affiliated with FountainVest that promise extraordinary returns on your investment at little to no risk. These “high-yield investment programs” are frauds and you should avoid them.

FountainVest is not responsible for any such fraud

FountainVest does not and will not contact individuals through LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, or other social media.

FountainVest never sends emails from “public” email accounts. All our emails use the domain name “@fountainvest.com”.

Please confirm you are visiting the FountainVest’s authorised websites only posted through “fountainvest.com” domain, and WeChat Official Account “方源资本” and no other website domains or WeChat accounts.

FountainVest’s only authorised vendor website is managed securely by Intralinks (support@intralinks.com). No other vendors are authorised by FountainVest to communicate (including requesting or receiving) information through websites.

Be very suspicious of any unsolicited communications that ask for your personal or financial information.

Contact the organisation that is supposedly sending WeChat messages to verify if it is genuine.

Be very cautious if you are asked to wire money. If you believe that you have been the victim of Internet fraud, consider reporting it to your local authority.

We have listed all of our authorised office locations on our contact page. Do not communicate or deal with persons not affiliated with any of our authorised offices.

Should you wish to communicate with us, please send emails to an authorised FountainVest email address which must end with “@fountainvest.com”. FountainVest does not permit its employees or representatives to send or receive work-related emails from personal email accounts or any other address. If you are or become suspicious of potentially fraudulent activity when communicating through email, please contact fraud@fountainvest.com immediately for assistance.
